COVER EXPLANATION.—The McLeod Springs Wash drains towards the central Toiyabe Basin of northern Nevada, as seen from the eye of a drone. This small and peculiar fluvial fan may hold meaningful analogies to Earth’s early rivers. The mid-fan is roughly half a km wide. Photo courtesy of Alessandro Ielpi. See Ielpi et al., this issue.
