COVER EXPLANATION.—The Bokkeveld Group at its type section, Klipbokberg, Grootrivierhoogte, Cederberg, Western Cape Province, South Africa. Seen are the alternating and laterally continuous sandstones and shales that typify the Lower–Middle Devonian Bokkeveld Group and give the succession its typical hogsback topography. The prominent sandstone at the top of Klipbokberg is the Middle Devonian Blinkberg Formation that forms the base of the Witteberg Group in the area. See Penn-Clarke et al., this issue.
